New Fields and New Objects are also included.

Features

The 21R2.0 release includes features from the following minor releases:

General

Attaching Salesforce Files on Mobile Devices

For Lightning-enabled users on mobile devices, files are automatically uploaded as Salesforce Files if they are attached to records via Attachments related lists or embedded (zvod) attachment fields.

Veeva CRM Standard Metrics

Veeva CRM has standard metrics for call channel, user type, and user country data. Standardizing a set list of picklist values allows Veeva to capture better insights through benchmarks built on consistent data across companies. It also allows customers to do the following:

  • Normalize data for comparison across therapeutic areas and orgs within their company for faster insights
  • Enable downstream innovation and CRM functionality, such as integrated HCP scheduling, channel preferences, and country-specific logic through a consistent set of values
  • Gather metrics and set benchmarks

Account Management

Stakeholder Navigator (Updated July 28, 2021)

The Stakeholder Navigator enables users to create and execute a successful account management strategy by illustrating the makeup of an account and highlighting important people related to the account—for example, KOLs or influential HCPs. The Stakeholder Navigator provides a visualization of the general structure and relationship between accounts to help users understand the makeup of an account.

Approved Email

Multi-Product Approved Email Content

This feature is available in Sandboxes on August 7, 2021.

Content creators can avoid duplicating Approved Email content in Vault by assigning multiple products to Email Templates and Email Fragments. Multi-product content then generates in CRM as one Approved_Document_vod record per assigned product. This results in a more streamlined content library that is easier to maintain.

Call Reporting

Selecting a Call Channel

This feature is available with the production release on August 12, 2021.

As users increasingly move to methods of HCP engagement beyond in-person calls, capturing call channel information on each call report is crucial for capturing accurate, comprehensive call information. This feature enables collection of standardized, actionable benchmarking data on user interactions with HCPs and serves as a foundational use of call values for integrated CRM functionality.

CLM

Supporting Multi-Product CLM Presentations

This feature is available in Sandboxes on August 7, 2021.

Content creators can avoid duplicating CLM content in Vault by assigning multiple products to Multichannel Presentations (binders), Multichannel Slides, and document records created via auto-publishing. Multi-product content then generates in CRM as one CLM_Presentation_vod and Key_Message_vod record per assigned product. This results in a more streamlined content library that is easier to maintain.

Launching CLM Media Library from the Call Report Online

This feature is available with the production release on August 12, 2021.

Users can launch the online CLM media library via Veeva CRM on Desktop directly from the call report outside of an Engage meeting. This allows users who are meeting with accounts face-to-face or remotely, for example, over Zoom or Microsoft Teams, to share downloaded CLM content via their desktop. This CLM activity is tracked on the call report. See Tracking CLM Key Messages for more information.

Removing Tracked CLM Key Messages from the Call Report Online

When users share CLM content during a call, they may accidentally navigate to slides inappropriate for the call, tracking the key messages for those slides on the call report. When editing the call report, users can remove irrelevant key messages.

Engage Meeting

Capturing Remote Signatures for Sampling Using Share Link

Remote signatures are now available on the online call report. See Capturing a Remote Signature for Sampling for more information. This feature is enabled for end users who already have Remote Signature Capture configured on iOS platforms.

Improved Sharing Experience

This feature is available with the production release on August 12, 2021.

Engage hosts can stop sharing CLM presentations to display full screen video tiles to attendees, enabling a more interactive experience. This replaces the splash screen that displays when CLM content is not displayed to attendees.

Enhanced Engage Meeting Attendance Tracking

This feature is available with the production release on August 12, 2021.

Engage Attendance Tracking directly associates meeting attendees with their respective records in CRM, while also providing more attendance information, for example, an attendee’s IP Address and the meeting’s engagement minutes. This information is available in CRM as it becomes available from Zoom, without needing to submit the call report first, making information more useful and more available to users who review attendance information.

Viewing the CLM Media Library from the CRM Engage App Online

This feature is available with the production release on August 12, 2021.

When viewing the CLM media library online via the CRM Engage app, users can add labels and sort presentations by directory. Ensure the appropriate WHERE clause for the Message_vod VMOC is used. SeeConfiguring CLM for Engage Meetings on Veeva CRM on Desktop for more information. Additionally, users can search for presentations using search terms matching presentation keywords and descriptions.

bs – Bosnian

hr – Croatian

pt_PT – Portuguese (Portugal)

et – Estonian

Events Management

Alternative Hosts for Virtual Events

This feature is available with the production release on August 12, 2021. (Updated July 28, 2021)

Event organizers can designate Event Team Members as alternative hosts. Alternative event hosts can begin and run virtual events with the same privileges as the event host, enabling organizers to avoid rescheduling and canceling the event if the organizer cannot host an event, for example, due to illness or scheduling conflicts.

Event Speaker Rules

Event Speaker rules enable admins to set up guidelines and policies when adding speakers to events. These guidelines and policies provide compliance, more effective events, controlled spending, and limits to speakers added to events.

Event Coordinator Lightning Business App

This feature is available with the production release on August 12, 2021. (Updated July 28, 2021)

The Event Coordinator app provides home office users like event planners, coordinators, compliance, and operations quick and easy access to information relevant to events, including the following:

  • Upcoming and past events pending close out
  • Events by type and format
  • Percentage of budgets used
  • Events pending approval
  • Speaker training and utilization
  • Attendee reports

The Event Coordinator profile must be present in the org (with or without users associated to them). If the profile does not exist, admins can deploy the package containing Veeva's out-of-the-box Event Coordinator profile, which includes all the necessary permissions for the app, or configure a custom profile.

When planning an event from the Event Coordinator App, key information in the logistics process, for example, attendee status and remaining invitations to send, displays inline with the event.

Medical

Field Medical Lightning Business App

This feature is available with the production release on August 12, 2021. (Updated July 28, 2021)

The Field Medical App provides field medical users with access to the information they need, all in one place, where they can look up accounts, view interactions, research the latest information in publications and clinical trials, and access other medical-related information.

The MSL and MSL - Platform standard Veeva profiles must be present in the org (with or without users associated to them). If the profiles do not exist, admins can create them by cloning the Standard User profile for the MSL profile and the Standard Platform User profile for the MSL - Platform profile.

MyInsights Studio

Querying Nitro Data from MyInsights Studio

This feature is available with the production release on August 12, 2021.

Users can use the Nitro Query data element in MyInsights Studio to integrate Nitro data into custom MyInsights content.

Order Management

Configurable Order Lines Column Width

Admins can adjust column widths for the Order Lines fields on the Order_Line_vod page layout to ensure longer field labels are adequately displayed. Field labels can contain information to guide users on which products to sell.

New Videos

The following videos were added as part of this release:

User Visible and Behavior Changes

Most new features require some configuration, however users are able to view the following changes immediately.

General

  • The definitions and picklist values for the following items were updated. Any custom fields or picklist values on these objects were overridden. See Veeva CRM Standard Metrics for more information.

Engage Meeting

  • Online: The Hide Video Tile on Attendee's Share Screen group meeting permission was removed. Support for this group meeting permission was deprecated in 2019.
  • iPad: Hosts can now stop sharing regardless if attendees are allowed to share their screen. When the host is not sharing, larger video tiles display to attendees, enabling a more interactive experience when no one is sharing their screen. See Displaying Full-screen Video Tiles for more information.
  • Online: Engage Meeting Attendance Tracking information is now added to CRM as it becomes available from Zoom, without needing to submit the call report first. Due to this update, the following additional changes apply:
  • The Call_vod lookup field no longer populates on Remote_Meeting_Attendee_vod records
  • After the related call is submitted, the processing status is set to Complete two days later
  • Online: Meetings where only the host joined now have a Meeting_Outcome_Status_vod field of Meeting Without Attendees. Remote_Meeting_Attendee_vod records for hosts of these meetings are now created, with the following fields left blank:
  • IP_Address_vod
  • Device_vod
  • Network_Type_vod
  • Online: The following app launch performance improvements were added to the CRM Engage app:
  • The CRM Engage app now launches faster for users with large media libraries accessing the CLM media library or starting an Engage meeting
  • When launching the app to view the CLM media library:
  • The user’s existing local library displays
  • A data sync occurs in the background and an Apply Updates button displays if there are updates to the library
  • If users do not select the Apply Updates button, the updates are applied automatically when users exit the app

My Schedule

  • iPad: To enhance the user experience, several changes were made to the Call Detail popover screen. See My Schedule Overview for more information.
  • The Edit button now displays on the top right side of the screen instead of on the top left
  • Warnings, for example, call schedule conflicts or attendee warning messages, display in a warning box at the top of the screen instead of at the top of the screen on the same row as the datetime
  • The Call datetime now displays after the Account section in a long format with an abbreviated month instead of at the top in a short datetime format.
  • The attendee count icon now displays in gray on the right side of the screen instead of on the left in blue
  • Users can select the Attendees option to view a list of account attendees, user attendees, or contact attendees
  • A Sidebar color item was added for calls on the current day and future calls. Selecting this item opens the color palette.
  • Action Links, for example, View Account and View Account Calendar, now display at the bottom of the screen
  • In the Attendees section, the Back button displays either the word “Back” or the name of the previous screen, depending on the length of the screen name

Multichannel Cycle Plans

  • Online: The Channel_Interactions_Earned_vod field description on the MC_Cycle_Plan_Channel_vod object was updated. Any customizations to this field label must be redeployed by updating the translation instead of the label. (Updated 8/4/2021)

Order Management

  • iPad, Windows: The Order Management iOS and Windows Tablet user interface now provides a better user experience when negotiating and creating orders.
  • Mass Add Products for Offline Orders
  • Default to Order Line table view with the option to filter by product
  • Editable fields display in blue. Read-only fields display in black.
  • Jump directly to an editable field - entry panel displays with cursor on selected field
  • Auto-close the entry panel when selecting Add & Close
  • Fixed Units of Measure on Order Lines
  • Plus and Minus shortcut buttons for products with fixed multiples

User Interface Enhancements

  • Saved record
  • Submitted record
  • Error

See this video for more information.

  • iPad, iPhone: Three existing zero-data state icons are updated.
  • iPad, iPhone: Cards throughout the Veeva CRM iOS apps are updated with 16-pixel rounded edges for a consistent, modern look. See User Interface Enhancements for more information.
